March 2nd was a historic night at the ButaPub. We had some of Rochester’s absolute illest emcees on the stage, not to mention producers.
We knew the vibe was going to be a little bit different after The Shogun Warriors (consisting of Lo Kusugi, Mumblz, and Metaphyzix) set the night of with a beat performance that had the entire crowd’s heads knodding.
Next I came up to perform some new joints as I usually do.
From there Chup the Producer, who has placements on some of today’s biggest underground hip-hop records, including Benny the Butcher and 38 Spesh’s “Stabbed and Shot”, began a beat set and even treated us to a few exclusive songs with ENox.
From there, the night’s headliner, Rigz along with his boys Rob Gates and Mooch rocked the house. The night was officially “lit” as the kids say.
Smokin’ Buta mainstays, Volatile and Golden along with our boy, and now Minnesota native Kes, rocked a “roulette” set, going song for song keeping the night rocking, into the final act of the night, the Castoffz.
The Castoffz did their thing as always, and we can say the night was a smash.
This month’s show, April 6th, has quite the stacked lineup as well.
Contac, is releasing his album, and will be performing with his Brawlic Brother, Gweedo.
Cello Brown is celebrating 1 year of the Lafayette Cafe radio show, which you can catch every Friday from 5-7 pm on 104.3 Wayo FM or wayofm.org online.
Crotona P, is rocking tracks off his recently released album.
We have 2 acts from Buffalo: Short Moscato and the Ooze Gang. ToneyBoi will be DJing and celebrating his birthday.
Volatile and Myself will do a little beat exhibition.
And finally FUA legend and hiphop addict “Vision” will be doing a live graffiti exhibit, which we will be raffling off to a lucky winner at the end of the night.
I hope to catch you there April 6th!
