SMD's Corn Casserole | Gotta Have Flavor! Holidaze Edition

So you said “Can I bring anything?”

They actually said “yes!”

Well shit, I’m broke!

Here’s a sick ass dish to pass that won’t break the bank and will go with any holiday meal.

See, cheaper than a dime sack

See, cheaper than a dime sack

This is one of my favorite holiday side dishes, and it’s cheap which is key when you’re dropping cash left and right on everything this wonderful season brings with it. If you by the ingredients at Wegmans grand total you’re looking a $8.34, and that’s if you don’t have butter. If you remove the butter you’re looking at $5.45!

The recipe is easy to follow, you’ll find it below, as well as a video of me showing you just how easy it is to make.
It’s my corn casserole, I been making it for’s easy as shit, cheap as shit, and can be remixed.  Add a chopped jalapeno for some spice, fry up some bacon, replace some of the butter w/ bacon fat, chop up the bacon and get up.   Try different cheeses...whatever’s clever.  But here’s the base of the recipe to get you started.  Fam’ll think you all growed up and shit.

SMD’s Corn Casserole

You gotta have flavor.

You gotta have flavor.

Get This:

  • 1 can of corn (drained)

  • 1 can of creamed corn

  • 1 box of jiffy cornbread mix

  • 8 oz sour cream

  • Half stick of butter (clarified)

  • 1 ½ cup of shredded mild cheddar

  • Square Tin from the dollar store

Do This:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375

  2. In a big ass bowl add can of corn (drained), creamed corn, cornbread mix, sour cream, and the clarified butter.

  3. Clarified butter is melted butter by the way, easy way to do that shit is put the stick in a small pan on low while you’re getting the rest of it ready then boom, pour it in last.

  4. Mix well

  5. Spread into the square tin

  6. Put it in the oven for 45 minutes.

  7. Remove, add shredded cheddar to top

  8. Put it back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese melts.

  9. Pull it out, put some foil over that bad boy and head on over for some cringe worthy convos. At least one subject won’t be how you ain’t bring shit!

Check the video below if you want to see how it’s done.
